The first Festa delle Donne del Vino 2017: over 70 events

ON SATURDAY THE 4TH OF MARCH, FOR THE FIRST TIME AT NATIONAL LEVEL, THE EVENT DEDICATED TO WOMEN WHO DRINK, MAKE, SELL AND PROMOTE ITALY’S GREAT WINES. INVOLVING 12 ITALIAN REGIONS

A nationwide event held in 12 regions of Italy and in dozens of wineries, restaurants, wine stores and museums, where Le Donne del Vino are protagonists and look forward to seeing winelovers, men and especially women, to raise a toast with them, proposing an afternoon full of experiences and tastings.

“A festive way to show the feminine side of Italian wine” – explained chairwoman Donatella Cinelli Colombini. “The new stars of a traditionally male-dominated production sector get International Women’s Day 2017 off to an early start, giving people a chance to get to know them, displaying their talent and disseminating a culture of wine and responsible drinking”.

The event planned for the afternoon of Saturday the 4th of March (but there are those who will be starting in the morning), develops the national theme “Donne vino e motori” (Women, wine and engines). It challenges clichés and those who still believe that women are not particularly well-suited to activities linked to mechanics or to wine. In short, an elegant but transgressive way to draw attention to lots of very talented professionals united in the national association Le Donne del vino, which coordinates the communication.

The list of initiatives reveals the creativity of women. It’s no coincidence that wineries managed by women are already just the way the entire wine sector would like to be: with a university education, focussed on doc-docg wines, capable of exporting most of their wine, diversified and attentive to the environment.

All the events, with more details, will be published soon at www.festadonnedelvino.it and on the blog: www.ledonnedelvino.it
